7/30/2003, Standish-Hickey State Park to MacKerricher Beach, 42.58 miles + 9.68 miles (trailerless grocery and lunch run) = 52.26 miles (total)

What a bummer! Someone took my cell phone that I left charging in the restroom. I'm upset and don't plan to write much...

Today was alright. Notorious Leggett and Rockport hills were actually enjoyable, but the coast was freezing, misty, and foggy. I had a really "spiritual" experience during the Legette descent when I realized what I thought to be the sea was actually clouds. It was a beautiful and moving moment. It reminded me somehow of "Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon." I then passed the abandoned town of Rockport. It was sort of erie passing a ghost town amist mist and fog with no one around you...

On the coast, the up and down terrain got old quickly especially since the fog had hidden all the view. I also encountered a slight headwind (unusual here?).

Ok - let's hope the guy who took my phone returns it - and soon. I've got a passcode on it, so it's useless to him anyways...
